New Years Resolution

Is to finish all the things that I started last year, and also some of the things that I really wanted to do but never got around to doing.

1. Change Jada's diet ( trying to eliminate some of the additives that may cause bad behaviour)

2. To make Jada some skirts, there are some cute little patterns around, every little miss needs girly skirt, these will be three that I will be making for her, here, here, and here

3. I brought this little guy awhile ago and I will make him up for Braydon

4. I plan to make a upside down plum cake I have made it before and its very sweet but well worth it

5. I have some birthdays coming up so there will be some things made there and also I have some friends that are having babies and I can not resist to give a baby gift that is handmade

6. Make some of mums homemade tomato relish and strawberry jam

I will leave it there and post as I finish one by one.

A SAD STORY

How lucky are we when are kids grow up and nothing bad has happened to them, in some sad cases bad things happens. I was reading a true story from a magazine the other day and by the end of it I was crying. It started out Teachers sex slave, a 12 year old girl needed to have after school lessons to improve her drama grades, and her parents supported the idea, (like any parent would want for their child, to improve their educatation) but as the leesons went on, the teacher made himself more and more comfortable with this 12 year old little girl, and then demanded that he give her a naked massage, on her 13th birthday he took pictures of the naked girl and forced himself inside her, she did protest and beg for him to stop but he didnt. This poor girl was so scared she couldnt tell her parents, my heart melted at this stage and thought what happened if that was my daughter and she could not tell me, well it wasnt until another girl had told the police what had happened to her that he forced this girl in the car and 12 hours later he set up a tent, and for two days in a tent he had his way with her, she got hold of his mobile and rang her mum and still to scared to say anything she said mum Im ok Im with (the teacher) and then hung up, the next day the police tracked the call and he was arrested not only for the rape of the other girl but what he did to her, when she got her medical done they told her she was 5 months pregnant ( keep in mind she was 13) and being a devoted christian abortion was off the list, I can not even start to imagine what her poor parents were going through, it said in the magazine that they blamed themselves for what had happened to their little girl. This story was hard to tell thats why it was in brief description, I know if we worried about every little thing that could or might happen to us or our children we would be a mess, but reading things like this really makes you think twice.

Babies

Babies have been the reason for me not posting lately, the very last thing that happened today was Jada decided that she was hungry, so got the loaf of bread off the bench and came running to me and as she did that they all fell out, and she kept running, just happens that she was running on the bread.
We tried some craft yesterday (with glue) bad bad move, I wore all the glue. So that is where I would like some help, please give me some idea on craft or sites that I can go to that will give me craft ideas.

So many things

Well Im sorry for being away for so long, but I have got a little 2 year old that is throwing huge HUGE tantrums, and a baby boy that wont stop screaming. But on a better note we have done a few nice things in these past weeks. My cousin has a holiday park down in Yallingup, we went and stayed there a night, and we all had a blast, then we went off to do some touring. We called into Sunflowers animal park, it was very relaxing and fun to see Jada's reaction with the animals, hands on hips and the look on her face was priceless.

and then there was the Donkey, who insisted on begging us for food (I smile for food),

This was just a interesting gardening man, so we got a pic.

Then we went off to the reptile park, I wont show you the pics of the snake around our necks, because some people just dont like them, and I do understand that, I really dont mind them, they do feel a bit unusual. But we do have a nice photo of the frogs,

We also visited the Chocolate Company just outside of Margaret River, Miss J loved the samples. we did a lot more things but I wont bore you with anymore.

I have been working on a few blankets, one made from Granny Squares, that is going to look unreal spread across our bed when finished, colours are brown and cream. The others are baby blankets, I made my friend Amanda one for her little boy and gave it to her when she was in hospital just after having him. I will post photos of things that I have made soon.

My New Baby

Well I have not had the time to scratch myself with all the bottles and nappies, not just for one but 2 now, its been a challenge but a delightful one at that. He came into this world at 8lbs 6 ounces, and 49 cms long, and a mob of thick dark hair. I have my pigeon pair now and 20 months betweens them, Im a very proud mummy. My dad would be also very proud with the size of his feet, I think we will have another footy player in the family.

Oh So True

A little good reading, very funny and Oh So True

WHY IT TAKES SO LONG IN THE LADIES ROOM

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place.

Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall.

You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for the modern "seat covers" (invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty.

You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank down your pants, and assume "The Stance."

In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles begin to shake.

You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold "The Stance."

To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more.

You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible.

It's still smaller than your thumbnail.

Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet.

"Occupied!" you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is wet of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late.

Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try.You know that >your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, "You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get."

By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too.

At this point you give up.

You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks.

You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women, still waiting.

You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just might need this."

As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used and left the men's restroom.

Annoyed, he asks, "What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?"

This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest???) you've got to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long.

It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door!

This HAD to be written by a woman! No one else could describe it so accurately!

Ginger Bread Men

Daddy and Jada decided that it was a good time to make Ginger Bread Men, and they turned out so yummy.
And on another note, I have 15 days to go before this little bub is coming into this world of ours, its getting so hard to bend over and pick anything up, Jada is having a lovely time trashing the house, while Im sitting here feeling a very useless housewife. Bed well thats a sore note, it takes me a good 5 minutes to roll over at night, and then 5am arrives when loo time arrives, this pregnancy is just so different to the last one.
Well im going back to looking at my mess, and hope that the fairy's will show up soon.

Garlic Chicken

26 Days to go

and dont you think that Im excited... 26 days left of this pregnancy..this one is very different to the first one, Im more uncomfortable, every five minutes it feels like I am going into labour (or is that normal) it will be all over soon anyway and things will be back to normal, well my body anyway.

I have been crafting a little lately, I made some Yo-Yos that I will join to bands for Jada's hair

I also have crocheted some Mary Jane slippers for myself, you would just have to excuse to swollen preggy feet, I also made some slip slop's for myself, I have cut out a few things for Jada, that I am slowly getting around to doing, I will also attempt to make a beanie for Jada, and booties and a bonnet for the new arrival.
Tomorrow is Mummy's day and Im off to bed now so I can wake up to pancakes and coffee in bed.

Its been so long

I can not get over how long its been since my last post.....Well let me tell you that I have been busy, huh busy been preggy. Jada has achived to totally drive me insane, not to sure if that was the reason I decided to have children haha.

Jada has fallen down our spiral staircase this time, almost all the way up and as I turned around she fell straight back, a mothers worst nightmare, I dont wish it on anyone, but she was fine, oh she cried alot and wont go up the strair unless we carry her, but she was fine.....ME on the other was not, we have it blocked off but when we go up there we can not lock it behind us, and thats what happened, but we are very thankful she is ok and we all have learnt a very important lesson...Children and Stairs dont mix.

The baby's room is coming along, no still no hints Anita, but we have been busy getting it ready, somethings in life are just so cute and fluffy and adorable, but thats the fun of having babies, then they reach 18months and its all over, and the only time your heart melts is when they skin the knee and call for mummy or they are asleep with thumb in mouth cuddling teddy and you think what was all the fuss about butter wouldnt melt in their mouth.

Done a little cooking this week, including some absolutley unreal Thyme and Fennel bread, I got the recipe from a friend Emma, made some kfc and then we were totally grossed out by a tummy full of grease, but the good thing about that is you always know you get a huge craving for ALOT of vegies.

I went and had our monthly mum's dinner the other day, it was so relaxing, hence to say I didnt have Jada, this one was a mexican lunch and yummy, I think that I will have mine after the baby is born, at this stage its going to be an Indian dinner, curries, saffon rice, and lots of hot spices ... my mouth is watering already.

Well I am in the middle of making things for the new etsy shop, I was going to go with the one thing but decided that I am just having way to much fun with these creations, all will be revealed soon.

Better get back to the mummy chores

Sunday, April 8, 2007

I was delighted to open my email this morning (Easter Sunday) and find that I had won a book, since having Jada I could honestly say that I have not picked up a book, now I have every reason to jump right back into what I love to do, read.

A little about the book.

For reasons beyond her control, Sophie finds herself alone in the wartorn Spanish countryside. What was once a thriving paradise has become a battleground for fascist soldiers and Spanish patriots. She is caught up in the escalating events when the route to safety is blocked and fighting surrounds her. On her darkest night, Sophie takes refuge with a brigade of international compatriots. Among these volunteers, she pledges to make the plight of the Spanish people known around the world through the power of art.

Ummm sounds like the kettle is going to have to be hot for awhile now.

Well Friday was the traditional Fish on Good Friday, we ate battered barramundi and chips, I should have grilled the fish, but simple greesy food makes a happy family, and its only a one off thing, this year anyway.

I hope that Easter Bunny came to all you good boys and girls out there, I know when my husband went to work this morning, I jumped out of bed like I was ten years old again and raced down the stairs to see if he had been, and much to this pregnant womens delight he had... Thanks Easter Bunny

Buns made

Hot Cross Buns turned out ok, bit on the harder side, but that was the flour that I used, I just don't think that I was born to experiment.

Well Jacki came over yesterday and we started the vegie patch, hmmm we lasted an hour with the girls falling in the dirt and screaming their heads off, Jada was that dirty that after a bath she had to have another one, so we are doing it when the husbands are home and can look after them, but we did get a fair bit done.

76 days to go

It has been awhile since I last blogged, but I have been so busy.

I am finally booked into KE Hospital, so at least I know where I am having the baby, now I just cross my fingers that i dont got into labour anytime soon, not with the baby being in a breach position and 4 and a half hours away from the hospital, I think that I will start getting the hospital bag ready soon.

Well we got home from Perth last night and I decided that I would make all my meals for the week up today..... Im stuffed.... but now I know that it will be a pretty easy going week, just take it out of the freezer and pop it into the oven, somethings you can not do, but the cassarole and the pasta bake, or even a curried sausages is easy.....

Jada had wonderful time at Nanny and Poppy's over the past few days, Tia was happy to see the back end of her when it was time to leave.
I think that tomorrow will have to be the time to get in the holiday mode and make some Hot Cross Buns for Easter, I just know Chris is going to love them.
